# Licences

The Major Matters Bench is published so it can be repeated and checked. Copy it, run it, build on it, and say where it came from.

- **Harness code** (`harness/`, and any scripts under `tools/` and an entry's `harness/`): Apache License 2.0. See `harness/LICENSE`. The vendored Major Labs kits inside `harness/kits/` keep their own Apache 2.0 licence, and the `canonicalize` module keeps its licence file.
- **Protocols, the reporting standard, findings, logs, intake and policy text** (`protocols/`, `REPORTING.md`, `POLICY.md`, `README.md`, every entry's `.md` files): Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may share and adapt them for any purpose, including commercially, if you credit "Charlie Major, the Major Matters Bench" with a link to https://majormatters.co/bench and say what you changed.
- **Evidence files** (every entry's `evidence/` folder, including transcripts, chains and manifests): CC BY 4.0, same attribution. Each manifest root and signer DID identifies the dataset it belongs to.
- **Names.** "Major Matters", "Major Labs" and "the Major Matters Bench" name this publication's work. Describe a run made with these protocols as "run under the Major Matters Bench Protocol v<N>", not as an entry on the bench, unless it was published here or accepted as a contributed run.
